  Stephanie MacInnis-Langley
 

Stephanie MacInnis-Langley is a long time advocate of women and works closely with justice partners to ensure a collaborative approach to services for victims of crime. 

Named as the Executive of the Nova Scotia Advisory Council on the Status of Women February 15, 2010 Stephanie works on many issues facing women in Nova Scotia including reducing violence against women and girls, promoting economic equality, and improving the health and well being of women and families.

As the former Director of Crime Prevention, Public Safety and Security Division, Nova Scotia Department of Justice, Stephanie managed components of Nova Scotia’s Crime Prevention and Reduction Strategy.

Stephanie joined the Nova Scotia Government in 1998 as a Victim Services Officer and in 2001 became a Regional Supervisor of the Victim Services in Halifax and Dartmouth. 

In 2003, she became Manager of Special Initiatives for Victims where she was accountable for developing and implementing special initiatives for victims of crime. 

Stephanie is a member of the Board of the Nova Scotia Criminal Justice Association

Prior to her work in government, Stephanie developed and implemented a shelter service for abused women and their children in rural Nova Scotia.  Stephanie has maintained a strong focus in community development throughout her career and has served on a number of government and community committees at federal, provincial and municipal levels.

Stephanie holds a Masters Degree in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University and is a registered social worker.
