Reference Services
We can answer your questions, find information relating to women’s issues or refer you to other sources that can help.
Reference Service is provided to the NSACSW staff, the Council members, provincial and federal government personnel, educators, students and the general public. Call, send a fax or email and we will try to answer your question.
Circulation, Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery
The Library is open to the public from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that we cannot lend our books and other printed materials directly to the public, with the exception of videos, which may be borrowed for 2 weeks. (Refundable deposit of $10.00 per title). A photocopier is available in the Library at a charge of $0.10 per page.
The public may borrow items through interlibrary loan from a public library, departmental or corporate library. These services are provided free of charge. Check with your local public or university library about interlibrary loan service.
Books may be borrowed for 3 weeks. Journals may not be borrowed on interlibrary loan; however, we will photocopy of articles.
Databases on the Web
We have searchable online catalogues of our collection and Council’s Recommendations.
The library has one public computer workstation, which gives access to our catalogue, Council Recommendations database, and the Internet.
Distribution of Publications
The library distributes many free publications. Lists of our publications are available online.
