The Advisory Council works with other government departments, women’s and community agencies, anti-violence organizations, and other provincial and territorial status of women organizations to reduce violence against women and girls at home, at work and in the community.

We inform and educate the public about women’s personal safety and freedom from violence, through publications like Making Changes, a Handbook for Women in Abusive Relationships, 5th ed. / Changer pour le mieux: Un livre pour les femmes victimes de violence - Quatrième édition (Révisée) and through public events, like the December 6 commemorative event we hold each year at Province House.
